It is important to have the right tools for the job; as I understand, although a lot of venues have in-house PA systems not all do, so I have my own Yamaha Stagepas 400i which is suitable for small-medium sized venues, with 6ft speaker stands. I also have my own industry standard SM58. Often I have an accompanist, and he has a good nord stage piano that would run through my PA system.
